“Mongold is committed to delivering long term value to our shareholders, employees, local community, and public stakeholders.”

What does Corporate Social Responsibility mean to us?

Mongold has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee headed by our CEO. The committee has developed a set of CSR guiding principles.  These include (but are not limited to):

1. Investing in our people
We want our people to have the opportunity to develop to the full extent of their potential. We will achieve this by providing a supportive work environment where our employees receive suitable training and opportunities for advancement.

2. Investing in the environment
We recognise the importance of environmental protection and will continue to invest in land and water management with a strong focus on continued rehabilitation of our mine sites and exploration targets.

3. Partnering with our communities
We have a strong and supportive relationship with our local communities. We see this relationship as a partnership, where we work together for mutual gain. We hire locally and purchase locally, wherever possible. Our community partnership philosophy extends through to state and federal levels, which allows us to further benefit the economy of the countries in which we operate.

Investing in our community

The life of a herder is extremely difficult as they have to constantly face extreme weather conditions, medical issues and a limited source of income in Mongolia. To improve their standard of living, Mongold builds wells and winter shelters to assist in cold winters. We also donate hay, firewood, and coal on an annual basis. We provide additional support by buying supplies from local herders at a fair market price.

“2021 was very hard for us herders with harsh winter conditions. We were sure that the fodder we bought wasn’t going to last till summer. At that time, Mongold donated hay and forage to us. It was exactly what we needed and I am grateful. Thank you for your generosity. I wish you further success.” “It has been two years since the first well the Mongold built for us. Here at Guagiin shand, it is very hard for us to find a water source for our animals and now with the well in operation, we have not had to worry about that searching for water for a very long time”
